    Description

    Item listed for your consideration is a very rare Faithful reproduction of the magnificent Yomei Mon of the Toshugu Shrine in Nikko, on a 1/10 scale with original display case, which was exhibited at the Tokyo Imperial Hotel in 1953.
    This model with 23 others of famous edifices and objects was created by the late Mr. K. Hasegawa, at one time an architect and engineer of the Imperial Household Department in Japan.
    There is an original letter included with the model, and a photo of Imperial Hotel, dated 11 July 1953.
    There is a letter from the hotel authenticating the display commission, and a dated photo of The hotel, which will be included with item.
    The approximate measurements are as follows:
    Case 12 in. High x 10-7/8 in. Wide x 9-1/2 in. Deep
    it has a small attached base approximately 1 in. High x 11 in. Wide x 9-7/8 in Deep
    Approximate total height including base is 13 in.
    Item acquired from Father In-Law estate, he was a Decorated WWII Glider Pilot and after the war Stationed at Yokota Air Base in Japan, flew supplies to troops during Korean Conflict, and retired from Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
