    Description
    Choice & High Grade
November 29, 1775 "FIVE DOLLARS" Continental Colonial Currency Note.
Very conservatively graded & certified by PCGS as NEW CU61, with the look of a much higher grade.
Darkly inked on both sides with no other problems of any kind, and there are no pin holes of any sort. This is a stunning note with just superb eye-appeal.
Bold serial number 117386 in dark red ink as is the signature of George Campbell, while that of Daniel Cylmer is boldly written in rich brown ink.
    Daniel Clymer,
was a Lawyer in civilian life, but during the Revolutionary War he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the 2nd Battalion of Philadelphia Militia in 1776. Daniel also served as Deputy Commissioner General of Prisoners for the Continental Army from Dec. 12, 1777 until 1781. At the same time, he served as Commissioner of Claims for the Continental Treasury. Following the war, he resumed practicing law, and represented Burks County in the Pennsylvania State Assembly in 1782. Daniel's cousin, George Clymer achieved even greater distinction during the Revolutionary Period, and was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
This is an authentic & historical item that was printed and issued in 1775 during the Revolutionary War (1775-83), and about a year before the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
