    Description
    Choice
    with just outstanding eye-appeal
November 29, 1775 "FIVE DOLLARS" Continental Colonial Currency Note.
Very conservatively graded & certified by PCGS as AU53, with the bold look of an uncirculated example.
A choice uncirculated looking note with no problems, and only missing the PPQ designation because of a very tiny pin hole in each corner.
This note is very darkly printed, has deep paper embossing, displays great eye-appeal, and does not show any signs of circulation.
Bold serial number 18287 in red ink along with the equally bold signatures of George Campbell and Daniel Clymer.
    Daniel Clymer
(1748-1810), was a lieutenant colonel in the Revolutionary War, and before the family emigrated to the Colonies, his great-great grandfather William Clymer sailed on the famous frigate “Penzance” for the English Navy in the mid-1700s, and in which he was eventually lost at sea. Daniel Cylmer was a Pennsylvania State Assemblyman and his cousin George Clymer, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
This is an authentic & historical item that was printed in 1775 during the Revolutionary War (1775-83), and just a few months before the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
