In only its second year of offering a winter program, First Known Philmont Kanik Contingent CSP is highlighted by the celebration of the 150
th
Anniversary of the Maxwell Land Grant.
Philmont issued instructions on a special logo celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Maxwell Grant, Woaplanne Chapter organized a “Kanik” winter survival training trip that had OA Scouts from 5 different Troops attend, A video was shot and played on local Cable Television and they learned how to cross country ski in the area of Cathedral Rock. patch provides the likeness of Maxwell, a multi-colored arrow and the familiar Tooth of Time landmark featured at Philmont Scout Ranch.
Now that the winter program name has changed from Kanik "Winter Adventure," this patch becomes an even greater collectible because it was the first known Kanik contingent CSP. Its always a great pick up to get the first of anything
